how to recover lost emails (partial) after file How to Resolve - Svchost Helper? compression

I am Fast Solution to Fix Mildew Proof Error using windows XP sps, three days ago I ActiveXviewer.cab Compatibility [Solved] performed an Remove Error 79 00fe Error oulook express file compressiom process, after a windows prompt asked me  to do so.
Unfortunately, a portion of the emails (Jan 2011 - Aug 2011) was found missing in the outmail storage folder, after file compression.
I think they were
deleted automatically during file compression.
Though I found a backup folder (*.bak) in the recycle bin, I still cannot get back the lost mails after  running
recovery at the recycle bin.
Can somebody help me to retrieve the lost mails?
 
For your information : before file compression - size of outmail storage folder  is abt.
1.2 GB  / after compression : 827 MB

You may try the below steps and check if it helps:

2.     Make sure Outlook Express is not running.
3.     Open the Recycle Bin on your Windows Desktop.

5.     Click on the ".bak" file with the right mouse button.

               c.     On the Maintenance tab, click Store Folder.
